Frequently Asked Questions
How do I prepare for a lesson?
Think about what you want to sing or work on. You can choose either a new song or one you already know. You can also select specific vocal phrases that you want to practice. Please bring the lyrics and/or sheet music, and if you have a pre-recorded band rehearsal, a backing track, or a specific karaoke track you like. You don't have to memorize the song lyrics. However, if you want to delve into the interpretation of the song, it's recommended that you know the song in its entirety by heart.
How often should I take singing lessons?
Your goals also determine how often you should attend lessons. For beginners, I recommend lessons at least every week or every other week, especially at the beginning, so that any new techniques become muscle memory. Advanced or professional singers can assess for themselves when they benefit from singing lessons.
I am a complete beginner, can I book a lesson with you?
Yes! Everyone can learn to sing. Singers of all levels are welcome to the lessons.
I am a singer and artist. What can you offer for me?
In addition to practicing phrases and songs, we can also analyze, for example, the vocal timbres, modes, and volume used by a specific song or singer. We can also examine the interpretation of a song, address performance-related issues, and delve into microphone technique. Often, with professional singers, we work on songs for an upcoming tour or studio sessions.
Do you play piano during the lessons?
I want to focus 100% on the singer, so I don't accompany with piano during lessons. We'll find a backing track together or consider what kind of accompaniment you want.
Why are the singers' testimonials without surnames or photos?
Singing is a very personal and delicate. I want my singers to be able to express their satisfaction with the lessons while maintaining their privacy. Therefore, the singers' testimonials only include their first names. Age is not a relevant factor in singing lessons and therefore it is only included in the recommendations if the singer wishes to disclose it."
